Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Started in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level domain is the sole TLD meant for personal sites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other titles people are known by. Initially, just 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you wanted to acquire john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already taken 3rd-level domains remained running.

Through our firm, you can purchase your .NAME domain for an interval between one and ten years. You will be able to change the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already purchased domain to our firm if you acquire its EPP transfer code from the current domain registrar and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finished. There are no special regulations on who can get a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the goal behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
