Established in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-code top-level domain extension is quite popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building creative and interesting domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to share it with associates and pals. As .IT domains are not provided directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that supervises this domain extension, such a domain can be registered through a 3rd-party domain service provider, such as ours. You can obtain a dot IT domain for a period of one year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our company and we will renew it once the transfer has been finalized. Due to the fact that there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of different regions and localities in Italy reserved for local third-level registrations, new names that consist of geographical regions of any sort are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion.
